PORCELAIN INCENSE BURNER BLACK

An incense burner created using techniques inherited from Arita ware, the birthplace of Japanese porcelain, with a history spanning more than 400 years.

Based in Hizen Yoshida, a ceramics district rooted in the tradition of Arita ware, 224porcelain creates a new expression of ceramics by bringing traditional techniques together with contemporary sensibility. Its distinctive work has earned a devoted following in Japan and around the world.

This stylish incense burner is crafted from Arita porcelain. Fill the burner with the included incense ash, light the incense and insert it upright into the ash. The incense may also be laid horizontally on the surface of the ash. When using it horizontally, always close the lid.

The burner is designed so that the ash produced as the incense burns falls into the bed of incense ash.

As almost every stage of shaping is carried out by hand, each piece possesses its own subtle character. The result is an expression of Japanese craftsmanship at its finest.
